Dear 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏCommunity,

As the nation honors former President Jimmy Carter, memorial services and activities are occurring throughout Washington DC. This includes a day of mourning and a state funeral at the Washington National Cathedral on Thursday, January 9.

As is the case with other local universities, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏwill be open on Thursday. During the funeral service, there will be significant security at the National Cathedral – located about one and a half miles from the main 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏcampus – and in the surrounding neighborhoods. If you drive to campus, please plan ahead for any potential traffic disruptions and leave extra time to travel to and from campus.

Flags on the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏcampus will be flown at half-staff for 30 days in honor of President Carter.
